Trial starts for Ohio State band teacher in rape case - CBS information

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A trial is determined to begin for a drum primary teacher for Ohio State university's marching band who's accused of sexually assaulting a scholar.

Stewart Kitchen has pleaded now not guilty to charges including rape.

His lawyer has talked about that he would "vigorously protect" his client against the allegations.

court documents allege the assault came about in April 2015 after Kitchen and the 19-12 months-historical lady went out ingesting after which walked to his Columbus domestic. The lady pronounced that Kitchen refused to come her to her domestic and sexually assaulted her in his bed room.

Kitchen become indicted lower than a yr after Ohio State fired the band's director, Jon Waters, after an investigation decided he omitted "a sexualized way of life" within the band.

Kitchen's trial starts off Monday.
